Prof Jayant Panda Takes Over As President IMA, Odisha Branch

Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: Prof Jayant Panda, Professor of Medicine at SCB Medical College Cuttack, took charge as the President of the Indian Medical Association, Odisha Branch.
Prof Panda took over the charge from Dr SS Khandelwal at the 74th Annual Conference of IMA Odisha held at the Dharani Dhar Medical College, Keonjhar on Sunday. More than 1000 doctors from all over the state attended the conference.
Chief Minister Odisha Mohan Charan Majhi graced the function as Chief guest.
Prof. Jayanta Panda has been a member of IMA for the last 25 years and has served in the capacity of secretary and editor of Odisha Medical Journal, Social service wing, Vice President East zone and member CWC.

✨He has designed and organised scientific programs of many state conferences including national IMAAMS conference in 2024. He is instrumental in promoting CMES, workshops and quizs by Cuttack branch, IMAMSN, Women’s’ wing and collaborating IMA activities with other premium associations like API, RSSDI, and Diabetes Day Walk.
On the occasion, Prof Panda said his vision and mission in 2025 would be to expand the membership base, organize regular CMEs and Diabetes prevention programmes. He also said he would promote plantation drives.
IMA has also planned public awareness activities and promoting lifestyle to fight out tsunami of metabolic diseases like obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure under his leadership. IMA is planning for its building in each district headquarters to ensure better activities throughout the year.
