President Murmu’s August 3-5 Odisha Tour To Feature Temple Visit, University Event

Bhubaneswar, Jul 21: President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a three-day official visit to Odisha from August 3 to 5, during which she will travel to Bhubaneswar, Kataka, Bramhapur, and Taptapani in Ganjam district. The Rashtrapati Bhavan has shared a draft itinerary with the State government and concerned departments to initiate necessary arrangements, officials said on Tuesday.

According to the schedule, the President will arrive in Bhubaneswar on August 3 at 2.10 PM and proceed to Lok Bhavan. Later in the day, she will attend the inauguration of Jagadguru Kripalu University in Kataka as the chief guest.

On August 4, President Murmu will travel by a special train from Bhubaneswar to Bramhapur railway station. From there, she will proceed by road to Taptapani to offer prayers at the Maa Kandhuni Devi Temple. Following the temple visit, she is scheduled to stay overnight at the Army Air Defence College in Gopalpur.

The final day of the tour, August 5, will see the President return to Bramhapur railway station and board the special train back to Bhubaneswar. She will then depart for New Delhi by air.

In view of the visit, Rashtrapati Bhavan has issued comprehensive directions to the administration, police, railway authorities, and other agencies across Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Ganjam districts. Detailed guidelines cover security arrangements, medical support, catering, accommodation, stage setups, and adherence to presidential protocol.

Special focus is being placed on coordinating security, platform management, VVIP movement, and dedicated coach arrangements at Bhubaneswar and Berhampur railway stations. District administrations have been instructed to finalise preparations well in advance and submit compliance reports before her arrival.

Officials said extensive traffic management measures are also being implemented to ensure smooth movement during the President’s engagements. Further details of her August 5 programmes are expected to be announced once the itinerary is finalised.
