Bhubaneswar, Jul 1: President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a two-day visit to Odisha on July 14 and 15, marking a significant engagement with the state’s academic and cultural institutions.

On July 14, the President will grace the convocation ceremony of AIIMS Bhubaneswar as the Chief Guest. She is expected to address the graduating batch of medical professionals, emphasizing the importance of compassionate healthcare and service to underserved communities. The event will be attended by dignitaries from the medical and academic fields.

The following day, July 15, President Murmu is scheduled to travel to Cuttack to participate in the convocation ceremony of Ravenshaw University, one of Odisha’s most prestigious educational institutions. Her presence is expected to inspire students and faculty alike, reinforcing the university’s legacy in shaping intellectual and civic leadership.

Later in the day, she will attend the 600th birth anniversary celebration of Adikabi Sarala Das, the revered 15th-century poet and scholar credited with pioneering Odia literature.

The event, to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, will also feature the presentation of the Kalinga Ratna Award 2024, honouring contributions to literature, culture, and public service.

President Murmu’s visit underscores her deep connection to Odisha and her commitment to promoting education, cultural heritage, and inclusive development. Her participation in these events is expected to draw national attention to Odisha’s academic and literary achievements.
