Bhubaneswar, Jul 15: President Droupadi Murmu is on her way to Cuttack on Tuesday for a packed schedule of ceremonial and developmental engagements, marking a significant day for the historic city.

Accompanied by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Governor Haribabu Kambhampati, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, and School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, the President’s visit drew participation from MPs, MLAs, and dignitaries.

The day will begin with President Murmu attending the convocation ceremony at Ravenshaw University, where she will address graduating students.

Following this, she is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a redevelopment project at Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure for young women in the region.

In a symbolic gesture of reverence, the President will pay floral tributes at statues of eminent personalities across the city, highlighting Odisha’s rich cultural and intellectual legacy.

Later in the day, President Murmu will grace the 45th annual celebration of Sarala Sahitya Sansad and the 600th birth anniversary of Adikabi Sarala Das at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium.

A key highlight of the ceremony will be the conferring of the prestigious “Kalinga Ratna” award to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan by the President, recognizing his contributions to education and public service.

To ensure smooth execution of the day’s events, the Cuttack district administration and Commissionerate Police implemented extensive security and logistical arrangements.

President Murmu’s visit not only celebrated Odisha’s cultural pride but also reinforced the state’s commitment to educational and literary advancement.
