Odisha Visit / President Droupadi Murmu Leaves For Ganjam By Special Train; Tight Security In Brahmapur

Bhubaneswar/Brahmapur, Aug 4: President Droupadi Murmu departed for Ganjam district on Tuesday aboard a special train from Bhubaneswar Railway Station, where she was received by Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The President was accorded a ceremonial welcome on the red carpet before boarding the special train. The Governor and the Chief Minister accompanied her during the journey.

Special Train To Reach Brahmapur In Over Two Hours
According to the schedule, the special train is expected to arrive at Brahmapur Railway Station at 11:10 am, covering nearly 170 km in around 2 hours and 10 minutes.

From Brahmapur, the President will travel by road to Taptapani Panthanivas, where she is scheduled to arrive at 1 pm. Afterwards, she will have lunch and take a brief rest there until 3 pm.

The President will then proceed to the renowned Maa Kandhuni Temple at Taptapani, where she is scheduled to arrive at 3:10 pm and offer prayers and perform the aarti until 3:30 pm.

Security Tightened Across Brahmapur
Extensive security arrangements have been put in place in Brahmapur for the President's visit.

Around 45 platoons of police personnel, along with senior police officers, have been deployed across the Silk City. A three-tier security cordon has been established along the President's convoy route, while checking and patrolling have been intensified at key locations.

Traffic Restrictions On President's Route
The district administration has imposed temporary restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles, light motor vehicles and two-wheelers along the President's route from 10 am to 11:45 am and again from 3 pm to 5:30 pm.

Emergency services, including ambulances and fire tenders, have been exempted from the restrictions.

The administration has urged the public to avoid the President's route during the restricted hours and use alternative roads to ensure smooth movement and security arrangements.
