Bhubaneswar, July 14: President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Bhubaneswar on Monday evening, marking the beginning of her two-day official visit to Odisha.
The President was warmly received at Biju Patnaik International Airport by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other dignitaries.
Shortly after her arrival, the President proceeded to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, where she would grace the fifth convocation ceremony.
During the event, the President is scheduled to confer degrees upon 643 healthcare professionals and awarded 59 gold medals to 31 meritorious students, celebrating academic excellence in the medical field.

✨On July 15, President Murmu will travel to Cuttack to attend the 13th annual convocation of Ravenshaw University. She is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three historic buildings at Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, reinforcing her commitment to educational infrastructure and women’s empowerment.
The President will also participate in the birth anniversary celebration of Adikabi Sarala Das, Odisha’s legendary literary figure. She will present the prestigious Kalinga Ratna Award-2024 during the event.
To ensure smooth proceedings, Commissionerate Police deployed 70 platoons of force and 300 officers across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Traffic advisories and security protocols have been put in place to manage the high-profile engagements.
