Preparations In Full Swing For Panchaka At Dhabaleswar Temple From Tuesday

Athagarh, Nov 10: Holy Panchaka festival will be observed in the famous Baba Dhabaleshwar Temple at Mancheswar in the Athagarh area of Cuttack district from Tuesday.
All preparations have been readied for the five-day festival during which lakhs of devotees from across the State are expected to throng the shrine.
To ensure a smooth Darshan, the police administration organised a mock drill at the Mancheswar police outpost today.
As many as 60 CCTV cameras have been fixed at different places for security purposes. Fifteen platoons of police force will be deployed. Three Additional SPs, seven DSPs, 105 ASI and 350 home guards will manage traffic and crowd in and around the temple.

It may be noted that Panchak (The last Five Days of Holy Month of Kartika) is observed as a sacred festival. Lakhs of devotees throng the Dhabaleswar shrine every day during the Panchaka.
During Panchaka, Bada Osha and Purnima are the important days. While a special bhog, called 'Gaja' is offered to Lord Dhabaleshwar on the Bada Osha Day, Danga Bhasha Utsav is celebrated on the Purnima day to mark the historic marine trade of Odisha.
