e Puri, June 25: Sacred fervor prevails all around Puri as preparations are at their last leg for the world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath the day after tomorrow i.e. June 27. Following the completion of Anasara rituals-- falling in fever after ceremonial bath and recovery from illness-- the deities--Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra--are now ready for Nabajoubana Darshan (youthful rejuvenation) tomorrow.
On the eve of this holy occasion, the Duttamahapatra sevayats performed the traditional “Banakalagi” ritual using auspicious colors like hengula, harital, kasturi, and kesar to restore the divine glow of the deities artistically. The public darshan will be open in two phases: Parimanik Darshan (ticketed entry) from 8:00–9:00 AM via the southern gate, followed by Sahanmela (general darshan) until 10:30 AM.
