Bolangir, Jul 27: The body of a pregnant woman was found hanging under mysterious circumstances at Khutulumunda village under Kantabanji police station in Bolangir district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Purnima Majhi. Purnima had married Chaitan Puta of Laumunda village under Turekela police station a few months ago.

According to reports, the matter came to light after deceased's paternal family filed a complaint at the local police station and alleged Puta, the husband of the woman, as the accused.

Based on plaint, police along with a scientific team reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.

While the body has been recovered and sent to a local hospital for post-mortem, scientific team is reportedly at the spot and investigating the circumstances that led to the death of the woman.
