Gajapati, Mar 22: A pregnant woman in Gajapati's Mandimera panchayat gave birth to a baby girl mid way to the hospital.

According to reports, a woman named Lalita Majhi, wife of Abaham Majhi was pregnant. On experiencing labour pain, Abaham along with some locals carried Lalita on slig. She was carried on sling from Gobel village to Lekhari village owing to the absence of motorable road.

However, on way to the hospital, Lalita gave birth to a baby girl.

Subsequently, they were rushed to Birikote Primary Health Center. Reportedly, the health condition of the woman and her newborn is stated to be stable now.
