“Deeply saddened hearing about the passing away of evergreen Odia film actor Uttam Mohanty. He was not only an actor but also like a family member of mine. His contribution to nurturing the world of Odia film was incomparable. Ramayan, Phula Chandan, Sita Pari Jhiatie are his unique creations.

He was a household name across Odisha for his impeccable and lively acting in Odia film world. His demise has left a void in the art world of Odisha. Odisha has lost a great personality. He will remain in the hearts of Odias for a long time. Condolences to the bereaved family and prayers for the departed soul,” tweeted Pradhan.
