Bhubaneswar, June 11: Senior BJP leader and Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday congratulated Chief Minister-designate Mohan Charan Majhi on being elected as the leader of BJP Legislative Party in Odisha.
Pradhan also congratulated Patnagarh MLA Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Nimapara MLa Pravati Parida for being nominated as Deputy Chief Ministers of the State.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Pradhan said that a 'Viksit Odisha' (Developed Odisha)' will be established as well as the hopes and aspirations of 4.5 crore Odias will be fulfilled with the blessings of Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannath, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and under the leadership of Mohan Charan Majhi, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida in the State.
"The BJP is committed to promoting the 'Odia Asmita' (Odia Pride) and culture. I thank the Prime Minister, BJP's National President, party's top leadership and state leaders for today's decision (on the announcement of the new CM and two Deputy CMs)," he wrote on X.

✨BJP's Tribal leader and four-time MLA Mohan Charan Majhi was today announced as the new Chief Minister of Odisha, where the saffron party came to power for the first time with a clear mandate in assembly elections, ending the 24-year stint of BJD.
The BJP has also announced the erstwhile Balangir royal family scion and Patnagarh MLA Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Nimapara MLA Pravati Parida as the new Deputy Chief Ministers.
Majhi, along with his Council of Ministers, are scheduled to take oath at Janata Maidan here on Wednesday at 4.45 PM.
In the 2024 Assembly polls in Odisha, the BJP won 78 seats in the 147-member State Assembly, while the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD secured 51 seats and the Congress bagged 14 seats.
