Bhubaneswar, Aug 3: The Commissionerate Police arrested two interstate criminals for their involvment in a high-profile loot case in the Sahid Nagar area of the capital city.
The accused persons have been identified as Khursid Khan and Mohammad Arif, both residents of Delhi. They were apprehended by the Special Squad following an intensive investigation.
The duo had reportedly travelled from Delhi to Bhubaneswar and carried out a robbery in the Sahid Nagar area on July 21. Acting on the complaint filed after the incident, the police launched a swift operation that led to their arrest.
Authorities recovered Rs 18 lakh in cash from the accused, believed to be part of the stolen amount.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the two accused persons have a history of similar criminal activities across multiple states, including Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh.
