Cuttack, June 14: A Police Havildar lost his life Friday after a bomb exploded while defusing it in Subhadrapur under Cuttack Sadar Police Station here.

The festive occasion of Raja turned into a miserable day for the family members of Pradeep Mallick, who was a Havildar in Odisha Reserve Police. 

A Bomb Disposal Squad was trying to defuse a bomb, which was recovered earlier. However, to the surprise of many, the bomb suddenly exploded claiming Mallick's life and injuring few others in the process.
