Bhubaneswar, Oct 20: As residents across the capital city celebrated Diwali from the comfort of their homes, the Commissionerate Police remained on high alert to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow. Officers were deployed across key intersections, marketplaces, traffic posts, and police stations, maintaining a visible presence throughout the festive night.

In a notable gesture, Police Commissioner S. Devdatta Singh and DCP Jagmohan Meena personally visited traffic personnel stationed at various junctions. They extended Diwali greetings and distributed sweets to officers on duty, acknowledging their dedication and service.

Women police personnel were also seen actively participating in night duty. Senior officers joined the Commissioner and DCP in meeting frontline staff, sharing festive cheer and boosting morale.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Singh emphasised that the initiative aimed to recognise the tireless efforts of police personnel and uplift their spirits during the festival. The move was widely appreciated as a symbol of solidarity between the force and the community it serves.
