Bhubaneswar, May 20: A high-profile team from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Economic Advisory Council (EAC-PM) is set to visit Odisha from May 20 to May 23 for an in-depth evaluation of financial allocations and developmental initiatives in the state.
The team, comprising Joint Secretary K.K. Tripathy and Advisor Apurva Mishra, will first arrive in Bhubaneswar before heading to Keonjhar district.
Keonjhar, known for its mineral-rich landscape, will be the focal point of the team's visit. The primary objective of this tour is to analyse the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) fund expenditures and assess how financial resources are being utilised for the welfare and development of mining-dependent regions.
Over three days, the officials will conduct meetings with state government representatives and local district administrators to scrutinize projects executed under the DMF initiative.
According to official sources, the review will include discussions on infrastructure projects, socio-economic upliftment schemes, and strategies to optimise financial planning in mining areas. The delegation will engage with various stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability in fund allocation.
In preparation for the visit, Additional Chief Secretary of the Steel & Mines Department, Surendra Kumar, has been officially notified via a letter from Joint Secretary Tripathy regarding the agenda of the discussions.
With Odisha being a vital contributor to India’s mineral output, the visit is expected to provide valuable insights into enhancing sustainable growth, employment generation, and environmental balance in the mining sector. The findings from this tour may influence future financial policies and development initiatives tailored for resource-rich regions.
