Mayurbhanj, Apr 16: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has highlighted the transformative impact of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in Odisha, particularly in Mayurbhanj district.
Under his leadership, the scheme has expanded its reach from 4,000 beneficiaries to over 1 lakh, empowering artisans and craftsmen with financial assistance, skill development, and market integration.
CM Majhi said that the initiative has brought smiles to countless faces, uplifting the underprivileged and fostering economic growth.
The Odisha CHief Minister also said that Mayurbhanj is poised to become an industrial hub, with plans for 10 new industries, a ₹14,000 crore investment, and the creation of 7,925 jobs.
The district will also see the establishment of an industrial park, focusing on sustainable development by prioritising water, nature, and environmental conservation. Local resources like Sabai grass, Sal leaves, and forest products are being leveraged to boost the region's economy.
The Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasised the importance of a "double-engine government" in driving Odisha's prosperity and strength.
He also acknowledged the challenges posed by modern machinery and pledged to support artisans in adapting to the changing times. The PM Vishwakarma Scheme has proven to be a beacon of hope, enabling beneficiaries to thrive in the modern economy while preserving traditional crafts.

This is a Central Sector Scheme launched by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt of India, to provide holistic and end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople through access to collateral free credit, skill training, modern tools, incentive for digital transactions and market linkage support.
