Bhubaneswar, Jun 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bhubaneswar on Friday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for 105 development projects worth a staggering ₹19,000 crore.

The event, expected to draw over 1.5 lakh attendees, will be held at Janata Maidan, where the Prime Minister will also address the public.

Of the 105 projects, 60 will be foundation stone ceremonies, while 45 will be inaugurations. These initiatives span across infrastructure, housing, welfare, and connectivity sectors.

The visit also marks the launch of key welfare schemes, including the distribution of cards of Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana, interaction with Lakhpati Didis, while Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will allocate homes under the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Yojana.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted a detailed review of the preparations at Janata Maidan on Thursday, accompanied by top officials including the Chief Secretary, DGP, Law Minister, and senior BJP leaders like Manmohan Samal, Vijaypal Singh Tomar, and Lata Usendi.

The Prime Minister will receive a grand welcome upon arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport, followed by a Tiranga Yatra and a massive roadshow from Kalinga Stadium to Janata Maidan. Nearly 2 lakh BJP workers and supporters are expected to line the route, with 28 cultural performances planned along the way to greet him.

The visit underscores the Centre’s focus on Odisha’s development under the “double-engine” governance model.
