Bhubaneswar, Aug 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke to former Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president, Naveen Patnaik, who has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar since Sunday evening, and wished him a speedy recovery.
According to sources, the Prime Minister enquired about Patnaik’s health over telephonic conversation. He also advised the BJD supremo to take adequate rest and invited him to visit Delhi once he feels better.
The call comes amid growing concern over Patnaik’s health, with leaders across party lines expressing solidarity and sending their best wishes.

✨According to the hospital's medical bulletin, Patnaik's condition is stable, and he has been shifted from the observation room to a cabin on Monday afternoon. Doctors said his health is improving.
The BJD president also urged party supporters to come to his residence, the Naveen Niwas, after his discharge from the hospital.
Patnaik, now serving as the Leader of the Opposition in the Odisha Assembly, remains a towering figure in state and national politics.
The 78-year-old leader had underwent spine surgery for cervical arthritis in Mumbai and had returned to Bhubaneswar on July 12.
