Koraput, Apr 18: As many as 30 persons were injured, including 13 people sustaining critical injuries, after a pickup van overturned near Podapadar area in Odisha's Koraput district, a source said Saturday.
The source informed that the passengers were returning from a wedding ceremony early in the morning when the driver lost control of the vehicle on a ghat road, leading to the accident.
The groom and his relatives are residents of Jangidi Valasa village, while the bride is from Bala village under Narayanpatna block in Koraput district, the source added.
Following the mishap, the injured persons were taken to Narayanpatna Community Health Centre for treatment and later admitted to a hospital in Koraput.
Police reached the spot and launched an investigation. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.

Eight Killed in Kurnool
In a separate incident, eight people were killed while 12 others sustained injuries after a Bolero vehicle collided with a lorry near Chilakaladona in Mantralayam mandal of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh on April 16.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a Bolero carrying pilgrims collided head-on with a ready-mix lorry.
The victims were residents of Karnataka’s Chikmagaluru district and were travelling to Mantralayam for darshan at Sri Raghavendra Swamy temple.
While five victims died on the spot, three others succumbed to injuries during treatment at a hospital in Yemmiganur.
The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals and are undergoing treatment.
Police registered a case and further investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident.
