Nilgiri (Baleshwar), Oct 28: A worker was killed after a powerful explosion triggered a fire at a petrol pump in Odisha's Baleshwar district on Wednesday, officials said.
The incident occurred at a fuel station located at Baligohiri in Nilgiri town. The cause of the explosion is yet to be officially established. However, preliminary information indicates that underground tank upgradation work was underway at the petrol pump when the blast occurred.

According to reports, workers were carrying out operations inside the underground fuel tank when a sudden explosion ripped through the site. At the time of the incident, customers were reportedly present at the petrol pump for refuelling, leading to panic in the area.
