Bhubaneswar, Dec 8: Fuel prices witnessed mixed trends in Odisha on Monday, with petrol and diesel rates rising in Bhubaneswar while dropping in Cuttack.
According to the latest revision by oil marketing companies, petrol in the state capital increased by 42 paise to ₹101.35 per litre, while diesel rose by 42 paise to ₹92.92 per litre.
In contrast, Cuttack recorded a decline in fuel prices.
Petrol fell by 53 paise to ₹101.19 per litre, and diesel dropped by 50 paise to
₹92.77 per litre. The variation in prices between the two cities highlights the
dynamic nature of daily fuel revisions.

✨Across major Indian cities, fuel prices also showed fluctuations. Delhi recorded petrol at ₹94.77 and diesel at ₹87.67 per litre. Mumbai continued to remain among the costliest with petrol at ₹103.54 and diesel at ₹90.03.
Kolkata reported petrol at ₹105.41 and diesel at ₹92.02, while Chennai stood at ₹101.23 for petrol and ₹92.81 for diesel. In Bengaluru, petrol was priced at ₹102.92 and diesel at ₹90.99, while Jaipur reported petrol at ₹105.07 and diesel at ₹90.53.
Fuel prices in India are revised daily at 6 am based on
global crude oil rates, foreign exchange fluctuations, and other factors. After
adding excise duty, dealer commission, and transportation costs, the retail
price nearly doubles compared to the base price.
