✨He slammed the preceding government led by Naveen Patnaik for not allowing Sarpanches to work independently.
"Former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik called Sarpanches CMs of their GPs. The preceding government, led by Naveen Patnaik, gave Sarpanches the district Collector's power during the Covid pandemic but later took out all power from them. Now the Mohan Majhi government is a people's government. During this government, power is bestowed on the people's representatives," Naik said, adding that the State government would enforce the PESA Act soon.
The Minister said Sarpanches would discharge all 22 powers enshrined in the PESA Act.
