Nayagarh, July 25: At least 13 persons sustained critical injuries after the bus they were travelling in overturned near Sariganda Chhak under Daspalla Block in Nayagarh district on Friday morning.

According to reports, a private bus named Mishra, was en route from Cuttack to Bolangir, when the driver lost control over the wheels and overturned after skidding off the road near Sariganda Chhak. Following the incident, several persons sustained injuries.

The vehicle was carrying a total of 17 passengers. Of them, 13 sustained injuries, including 4 who are reported to be in critical condition.

Initially, the injured were rushed to the Dasapalla Community Health Center, and later transferred to Nayagarh for advanced medical treatment.

On being informed, police along with the officials of the fire service department reached the accident site promptly to assist in rescue operations.

A case has been registered an further investigation into the accident is underway.
