Cuttack, Feb 23: Pankaj Lochan Mohanty took charge as the president of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) today. He formally took charge at OCA's annual general body meeting (AGM) in the absence of any other contender.

Mohanty was the only applicant who had filed nomination papers for the coveted OCA post, which was lying vacant with the resignation of Pranab Prakash Das on December 19. The election to the post was held within 45 days as per the norm.

Pankaj was officiating as acting president of the OCA after the resignation submitted by Das.

Notably, the last OCA election was held on October 28, 2022. Then Pranab Prakash Das was elected as OCA president. He resigned ten months before the end of his term. Earlier, Pankaj Lochan Mohanty was the president of the OCA from 2019 to 22.
