Bhubaneswar, Dec 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Dr Jatin Mohanty on Thursday said BJD’s new entrant VK Pandian has hurt the sentiments of Lord Jagannath lovers and demanded that the latter and social media influencer Kamiya Jani arrested soon.
“VK Pandian has made a video inside the premises of Jagannath Temple with a woman named Kamiya Jani, who is a beef eater. This video, posted in the social media, has hurt Jagannath lovers and Sanatanis not only in Odisha but also all over the world,” Mohanty told a presser, adding, “According to the rules, a beef-eater has no right to enter the Jagannath Temple unless he is christened. By letting Kamiya Jani into the temple, the ruling party has hurt sentiments of billions of Hindus all over the world.”
Mohanty demanded that Pandian and Jani should be booked under the IPC Section 295(A) that provides punishment for religious offenders. He also mentioned that the Section 30(A) of Shree Jagannath Temple Act, 1952 prohibits video making sans permission and thus the video made by both VK Pandian and Kamiya Jani amounts to a crime.
