Bhubaneswar, Apr 22: Addressing media persons, Odisha Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik highlighted the state government's commitment to reinforcing law and order in Odisha.
He urged citizens to reflect on the current state of safety and assured that no one involved in criminal activities would be spared.
The minister emphasised that the government is taking significant steps to strengthen the Home Department from the grassroots to the top levels. Recruitment processes, which were neglected by the previous administration, have been reinitiated to ensure a robust law enforcement system.
The Panchayati Raj Minister also outlined plans to modernise the police force with advanced equipment and technology. These upgrades aim to empower the police to effectively control crime and maintain public safety.
Reflecting on past incidents, the Rabi Narayan Naik mentioned cases such as the Mamita Meher tragedy and the Mahanga double murder, as well as the killing of former Minister Naba Das.
He criticised the previous government, led by BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, for allegedly attempting to suppress these cases and assured that the current administration is committed to transparency and justice.
The minister's words underscore the government's focus on creating a safer and more secure Odisha by addressing systemic issues and enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement agencies.
