Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: The Odisha government will provide a monthly honorarium of Rs 30,000 to each of the Padma awardees of the state from the current month, officials said Thursday.
The Odia Language Literature and Culture Department issued a notification to this effect.
In view of their outstanding contribution to society in various fields, the state government has decided to provide an honorarium of Rs 30,000 to the Padma awardees, the notification said.

✨In November last year, the Mohan Majhi government enhanced the monthly honorarium of the Padma award recipients of the state from Rs 25,000 to 30,000.
There are over 150 Padma awardees from Odisha, of whom 55 are alive, sources said.
