Bhubaneswar, Mar 12: As many as 84,757 ghost beneficiaries have been exclude from the database of the Public Distribution System across Odisha, informed Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra in the Assembly today.

According to the Minister, at least 22,293 ineligible ration cards have been cancelled during e-KYC verification and ration supply of 84,757 ghost beneficiaries have been stopped.

In a written response to a question by MLA Aswini Kumar Patra, the Minister shared the numbers for cancelled cards.

Cuttack reported the highest cancellations of 2,554 cards, followed by Balasore at 1,436 cards, Nayagarh at 1,618 cards, Khurda at 1,345 cards, Angul: 1,101 cards, Bargarh: 468 cards, Bhadrak: 567 cards, Balangir: 645 cards, Deogarh: 210 cards, Dhenkanal: 387 cards.
