Bolangir, Apr 9: In a major achievement, the excise department, Kantabanji seized 8.35 quintals of Mahul flower and arrested and court-forwarded a person in this connection today.  

The arrested has been identified as Nabin Puta, a resident of Tentulikhunti village of Jharani gram panchayat under Tureikela block. 

The excise sleuths also seized a van from his possession. He was illegally carrying the Mahul flower for sale at a distant place. 

The excise team led by Praveen Sahu intercepted the van near Tureikela College on Tureikela-Lathore road at around 7 am. 

After interrogation, the accused was court-forwarded.
