Over 100 PhDs Conferred at Sambalpur University Convocation

Sambalpur, Sep 13: Sambalpur University celebrated its 35th Convocation with grandeur and pride, marking a significant milestone in its academic journey.
The event was graced by Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati as the Chief Guest, alongside Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This was the Governor’s first official visit to the region since assuming office.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries including Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Skill Development Minister Sampad Swain, and MLA Jayanarayan Mishra.

During the convocation, degrees and honours were conferred upon meritorious students. A total of 102 scholars received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees across various disciplines, and one scholar each received a doctorate in Medical Science and Literature. As many as 20 students were honoured with Donated Gold Medals, while 39 received the prestigious University Gold Medals for academic excellence.
Earlier, the Governor, and Union Minister Pradhan, along
with other dignitaries, also visited the revered shrine of Maa Samaleswari.
Following the temple visit, they toured the beautification projects around the
temple premises and reviewed the development of the Mahanadi Riverfront.
