Bhubaneswar, Aug 1: In a major development in Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2025 paper leak case, Odisha Crime Branch on Friday two more accused, taking the total number of arrests to 8.
According to reports, the accused teachers are from Kalahandi and Koraput. They were taken into custody for interrogation.
Till now, four teachers and a data entry operator from the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) have been arrested in connection with the case.
Notably, the leak was discovered on July 19, just a day before the scheduled exam on July 20, when a handwritten question paper with answers went viral on social media.
The prime accused, Jitan Moharana, allegedly transferred the question paper to a pen drive and circulated it widely. A financial trail of Rs 2.4 lakh was traced to his account, confirming his role in the leak.
The School & Mass Education Minister, Nityananda Gond, condemned the breach and assured that a fresh, transparent examination will be announced soon. He emphasised that strict action will be taken against all those involved, regardless of their position.
