Exam Results / OTET-2026 Results Declared; 53,314 Candidates Qualified

Kataka, Sept 2: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha on Wednesday declared the results of the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET)-2026, with an overall pass percentage of 64.48. Of the 97,151 candidates who registered, 84,731 appeared for the examination held on July 5, and 53,314 qualified, officials said.

The OTET, conducted in two papers, saw varying performance levels. Paper-I recorded a pass percentage of 68.28, while Paper-II registered 60.68.

For Paper-I, 24,991 candidates appeared, of whom 3,830 were absent. A total of 17,065 candidates qualified. In Paper-II, 59,740 candidates registered, with 8,590 absent. Of those who appeared, 36,249 cleared the test.

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, announced that successful candidates can download their digitised certificates from September 7 at 11 am. Meanwhile, candidates who did not qualify will be able to access their OMR answer sheets between September 5 and 12 through the board’s official website.

The OTET is a crucial qualifying examination for aspiring teachers in Odisha’s schools. The results highlight both the scale of participation and the challenges faced by candidates across the two papers. While Paper-I, meant for primary-level teaching aspirants, recorded a relatively higher success rate, Paper-II, for upper primary-level aspirants, reflected a lower pass percentage.

Officials noted that the digitised certification process aims to streamline documentation and ensure transparency. The availability of OMR sheets for non-qualified candidates is intended to provide clarity and accountability in evaluation.

With over 97,000 registrations and more than 53,000 successful candidates, the OTET-2026 results mark a significant milestone in Odisha’s education sector, reinforcing the importance of teacher eligibility standards in strengthening classroom learning outcomes.
