OSEPA has issued guidelines for distributing school uniforms and materials to all students from kindergarten to Class 10 in government and aided schools for the 2026-27 academic year. The process, to be completed before summer vacation, will include uniforms, house dress, shoes, socks, identity cards, and caps, with district education officers monitoring the distribution.
Bhubaneswar, April 8: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has released fresh guidelines for the distribution of school uniforms and related materials to students from Sishu Vatika to Class 10 for the academic year 2026-27.
According to the directive, the distribution process must be completed before the commencement of summer vacation to ensure that all eligible students in government and government-aided schools receive their uniforms on time. The program will cover every student from pre-primary to secondary level, reinforcing the state’s commitment to equitable access to education.
The guidelines specify that the institutions selected and approved at the district level during the 2025-26 academic year - including Women Self Help Groups (WSHGs) and Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) - will continue to handle the supply for 2026-27 as well. This continuity is expected to streamline the process and ensure timely delivery of uniforms across all districts.
District Education Officers (DEOs) have been tasked with monitoring the distribution process closely. The uniform package will include school dress, house dress, shoes, socks, identity cards, and caps for students. The state government has emphasised that these items are not only essential for maintaining discipline and equality among students but also contribute to their overall sense of belonging and identity within the school environment.
OSEPA’s directive highlights the importance of completing the distribution within the stipulated timeframe, thereby avoiding delays that could affect students at the start of the new academic session. The initiative is part of Odisha’s broader education reforms aimed at improving infrastructure, inclusivity, and student welfare.
By ensuring that every child receives the required materials before summer break, the government hopes to strengthen its vision of a modern, inclusive, and supportive school system across the state.
