Bhubaneswar, Sep 18: In a significant development concerning the revered Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced that the ornaments stored in temporary chests will be relocated to the renovated Ratna Bhandar on September 23. If the process is delayed, it will be completed on September 24.
The decision was finalized during a meeting of the Ratna Bhandar sub-committee on Wednesday, which reviewed the logistics and readiness for the transfer. Once the ornaments are placed inside the treasury, lighting arrangements will be installed to facilitate the upcoming inventory process. The counting and verification of the valuables will begin shortly after the relocation.
In parallel, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the relocation of the temple’s donation box (hundi) to enable the implementation of the long-awaited “Dhadi Darshan” — a queue-based darshan system for devotees.

A trial run of this system will be conducted soon after the hundi is shifted, allowing authorities to assess its effectiveness and make necessary adjustments before permanent implementation.
