Puri, July 13: Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb Thursday said the ornaments and valuables of  Ratna Bhandar are expected to be shifted to the temporary strong room by evening today.

The Gajapti Maharaja visited the Ratna Bhandar and took stock of the situation at the inner treasure trove. The Ratna Bhandar was opened for the second time by the authorized 11-member team comprising Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (Administration) chief Arabinda Padhi, supervisory panel chairman Justice Biswanath Rath, the District Collector and SP of Puri, and others.  

The shifting is underway. 

"Shifting of ornaments and other valuables to the Khata Seja Ghar (Temporary Strong Room) is expected to be completed by the evening," said Gajapati Maharaja. 

The Puri King said inventory work will be done only after the cracks in the Ratna Bhandar are repaired completely. 

He said inventory work will be done as per the standard operating procedure (SoP). the specification of all items would be done using digitalization and high technology, said the Gajapati Maharaja. 

Regarding underground inside the Ratna Bhandar, the Gajapati Maharaja said that would be known only after all items are shifted.

The Archeological Survey of India would use highly sophisticated instruments and make laser scanning of the entire Ratna Bhandar, he said. 

"It may take time. We should do it perfectly. We pray a smooth completion of the work," said the Gajapati Maharaja.
