Bhubaneswar, Jan 9: Miscreants looted jewellery worth Rs 8 Lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh cash from the house of Additional Director of Panchayati Raj department, Chotelal Sharma in the Gandamunda area under Khandagiri police station limits here early this morning.

The robbers tiptoed into the room and stole the properties while Sharma and his wife were in deep sleep. 

Police have started an investigation into the matter basing on the complaint lodged by Sharma.
