Orissa High Court intervenes to resolve unpaid dues dispute, granting the release of detained vessel ‘MV Teleri M’.
Cuttack, Apr 17: The Orissa High Court has issued a directive to release the Panama cargo ship ‘MV Teleri M’ after an agreement was reached between the disputing parties over unpaid bunker fuel dues.
The vessel, which was arrested at Paradip Port last Saturday following legal proceedings initiated by Geoserve Energy Transport DMCC, is now set to resume its journey.
The cargo ship, detained at the Paradip port while en route to its destination, was embroiled in a legal conflict over outstanding payments for bunker fuel. Following the intervention of the Odisha High Court, both parties have reached an amicable settlement, enabling the ship's release.
In its ruling, the High Court ordered that the ship could depart Paradip Port upon the payment of outstanding dues. Geoserve Energy Transport DMCC had earlier filed the legal case, citing payment disputes with the ship's operators. The hearing of this case has been deferred to May 7, as per court records.
The resolution of this dispute ensures smooth operations at Paradip Port, which plays a pivotal role in India's maritime trade.
With this order, "MV Teleri M" can now proceed to its destination unhindered, marking a successful resolution of the matter for all stakeholders involved.
