Bhubaneswar, Jun 10: As the BJP-led Odisha government almost completed its first year in office, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has outlined the state’s achievements and future vision.
Addressing the public, CM Majhi emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency, economic growth, and social welfare, while setting ambitious goals for the next decade.
Key Achievements So Far
CM Majhi highlighted several landmark decisions taken in the first cabinet meeting on June 12, 2024, including:
- Opening all four gates of the Puri Jagannath Temple, restoring traditional access for devotees.
- Launching the Subhadra Yojana, empowering 17 lakh women with financial assistance.
- Allocating ₹37,800 crore for agriculture, ensuring ₹800 per quintal bonus for paddy farmers.
- Establishing a ₹500 crore corpus fund for the development of Puri Jagannath Temple.
Economic Growth & Industrial Expansion
Odisha has secured ₹17 lakh crore in investment proposals, with 12 lakh job opportunities created. The government has approved 206 large-scale projects, totalling ₹4.5 lakh crore, with 2.9 lakh job openings. Major industrial hubs are being developed in Khordha, Jajpur, Ganjam, and Dhenkanal.
Public Welfare & Employment Initiatives
The government has pledged to provide 1.5 lakh government jobs over five years, with 65,000 jobs targeted by the second year. Additionally, 90,000 private-sector jobs are expected through industrialization.
Education & Healthcare Reforms
The administration is implementing NEP 2020 and upgrading 800 schools under the PM SHRI scheme. The Ayushman Bharat scheme has been expanded, with ₹65,000 crore allocated for healthcare.
Anti-Corruption Measures
CM Majhi reaffirmed his zero-tolerance policy on corruption, ensuring strict action against corrupt officials. The government has conducted public grievance hearings across 30 districts, directly addressing citizens’ concerns.
Vision for 2036 & 2047
The Samrudha Odisha 2036 vision aims to elevate Odisha’s economy to USD 500 billion by 2036. The government is committed to making Odisha one of India’s top five industrial states. With this, Odisha can play a crucial role in Centre’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit on June 20, Odisha’s development roadmap is set to gain further momentum. CM Majhi assured citizens that the government will continue to work tirelessly to fulfill its promises and drive Odisha towards prosperity and progress.
