Nabarangpur, May 11: A tragic accident near Burja Chhak, along the Umerkote-Raighar route, claimed the life of a motorcyclist and left two others critically injured.

According to reports, the accident took place when a pickup van, heading towards Umerkote from Raighar, crashed head-on with a bike travelling in the opposite direction.

The impact of the crash caused the pickup van to overturn, resulting in severe injuries to the biker, identified as Parshu Gauda from Sanda village.

Reports indicate that his left leg and hand were severely mutilated due to the accident. Two other individuals sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Umerkote Sub-Divisional Health Center for urgent medical care.

Eyewitnesses state that the pickup van was transporting goods at the time of the accident.

Following the collision, the driver fled the scene, leaving authorities searching for his whereabouts. Local police are investigating the matter, while residents urge stricter road safety measures to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
