Sonepur, Apr 6: One person was killed while two others sustained critical injuries following a collision between a motorcycle and a truck. A tragic road accident occurred on the Baladi-Khari route in Sonepur district.

The deceased has been identified as Durjyadhan Suna from Baladi village.

Reportedly, the two critically injured persons- Shiba Sahu and Dhurkutu Kalta are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bolangir.

According to reports, the accident took place when the three victims were traveling on a motorcycle, which collided head-on with the truck. Following the incident, local residents rushed the victims to Narayanpur Community Health Center (CHC), where doctors declared Durjyadhan dead. While Shiba Sahu and Dhurkutu Kalta, with critical injuries, was transferred to hospital in Bolangir for further treatment.

The accident sparked public outrage, with locals demanding appropriate compensation for the bereaved family and blocking the road in protest. Authorities from Tarbha Police Station arrived at the scene, urging the public to cooperate and restore normalcy.
