Rourkela, Jan 10: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday expressed relief after an India One Air aircraft made a forced landing near Rourkela, saying all passengers were safe and directing officials to ensure the best possible medical care for those injured.
“I am deeply saddened to learn about the plane crash that occurred in Rourkela. The news that all passengers are safe by the grace of Lord Jagannath is reassuring. I have directed that the best medical services be provided to those injured. I am personally monitoring the situation,” the Chief Minister said in a post on X, adding that he was praying for the swift recovery of all those affected.
About eight nautical miles before reaching Rourkela, the aircraft was forced to land near Jalda. The pilots managed a controlled landing, which officials said helped avert any loss of life.
Following the incident, the district administration reached the site and shifted the injured pilots and passengers to medical facilities in Rourkela. Three passengers are being treated at J.P. Hospital, while the two pilots and one passenger are undergoing treatment at Rourkela Government Hospital. All six are under medical observation, and no fatalities have been reported.
The incident has been reported to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Ministry of Civil Aviation and other concerned authorities. As per regulations, the airline will submit a detailed report to the DGCA and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau for further action.

The Directorate of Civil Aviation said it is monitoring the situation closely and extending all necessary support through the district administration. The Commerce and Transport Minister is also overseeing the response, officials said.

According to a press note issued by the Directorate of Aviation, the India One Air aircraft, a Caravan 208 bearing registration number VT-KSS, was operating a flight from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela.
