Bhubaneswar/New Delhi, Apr 8: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a groundbreaking achievement for the state, securing investment worth ₹8,96,686 crores through MoUs with key industry players, including Petronet LNG and Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited under IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited). This bold move is set to steer Odisha towards becoming a premier industrial hub in India.
The Odisha Investors Summit, held at the Taj Palace Hotel, witnessed the signing of 13 significant projects in the presence of Majhi, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
"I am overjoyed to tell you that the Odisha Government has signed MoUs with Petronet LNG, Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited and several other companies under IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. MoUs of 13 projects have been signed. With this, Odisha will receive an investment of Rs 8,96,686 Crores. Toward making Odisha an industrial powerhouse, we have touched a new milestone today...", CM Majhi said Tuesday.
Expressed his pride, the Odisha Chief Minister said: “This milestone reflects Odisha's potential to lead India's petrochemical revolution from the east. Paradip is poised to become a transformative industrial hub, much like Dahej in the west. Odisha is ready, and we invite you to invest in our bright future.”
Odisha's vision of becoming a petrochemical and manufacturing powerhouse took center stage during the summit. Productive discussions were held with industry leaders from companies such as Kiri Industries, Himadri Specialty Chemical Ltd, and Bombay Dyeing. Majhi urged investors to join Odisha's journey of progress and prosperity.
The state’s strategic infrastructure developments, coupled with favourable policies, have made Odisha a magnet for investors. With this initiative, the Chief Minister is fostering innovation, creating jobs, and driving socio-economic growth.
