Jharsuguda, Apr 4: Jharsuguda's law enforcement has embraced technology to enhance public safety. Odisha's Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania recently visited the AI-enabled CCTV control room in Jharsuguda.

The Odisha DGP evaluated the effectiveness of cutting-edge surveillance systems and their contribution to crime control. Under his direction, AI-powered cameras have successfully helped reduce crime rates, monitoring high-risk zones like highways and entry-exit points.

During his visit, DGP Khurania emphasised controlling smaller crimes first to lower major criminal activities. He encouraged officers to treat complainants with respect and sensitivity.

His recommendations also included placing CCTV cameras at strategic points for comprehensive monitoring and adopting innovative techniques to expedite investigations.

The DGP also reviewed ongoing cases and evaluated women-related crime investigations, highlighting their sensitivity. He interacted with local groups, including senior citizens, legal representatives, and officers, emphasising collaborative efforts to maintain law and order.

Jharsuguda's AI surveillance system is steadily proving its worth, empowering law enforcement and showcasing Odisha's commitment to smarter, safer policing.
