Bhubaneswar, Sep 1: In a major digital leap, the Odisha government’s Commerce and Transport Department has announced a significant expansion of the Odisha Yatri App, introducing two landmark features: ‘Ama Bus’ ticket booking and Chilika boating ticketing starting from Satapada.

This initiative aims to revolutionize mobility and tourism in the state by leveraging technology and innovation. With the new update, citizens can now book tickets for ‘Ama Bus’, ensuring greater accessibility, transparency, and convenience.

Tourists visiting Chilika Lake can now select their preferred boating packages, choose travel dates, make payments directly through the app, and receive a QR-coded digital ticket. These tickets are valid at designated boating points, where boats are assigned through an integrated system, streamlining the entire experience.

The Android rollout of the updated app has been successfully completed, while the iOS version is currently under review and will be available soon. Officials have confirmed that further user-friendly enhancements will be introduced in the coming days to ensure a seamless booking experience.

Principal Secretary of the Commerce and Transport Department, Usha Padhee, emphasized that Odisha Yatri is more than just a digital service — it’s about empowering citizens with the freedom to travel and explore with confidence.

By integrating ‘Ama Bus’ and Chilika boating services, the state is bringing mobility and tourism closer to the people, making journeys smarter, safer, and more inclusive.
