Jajpur, May 15: Odisha Vigilance department on Wednesday launched simultaneous raids at multiple properties of Additional Block Development Officer (ABDO) of Dharmasala Block in Jajpur district regarding possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to reports, the anti-corruption wing raided at least seven places linked to officer Asit Kumar Patra.
A team comprising eight Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), nine Inspectors, and other supporting staff, conducted the raid under search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
The raids include:
A four-storeyed building owned by Patra at Chorda near Kanheipur, Jajpur Road, under Jajpur Road Police Station.
A flat (No. 404(A), 4th floor) in Metro Avenue Apartment, Chauliaganj, Cuttack.
His ancestral house at Garadeswar near Sundarimuhan in Jajpur district.
A relative’s house in village Sanabanasta, PO-Nerada, via Akhuapada, under Bhandaripokhari PS, Bhadrak district.
His residential government quarter at Dharmasala Block, Jajpur.
His office chamber at the Dharmasala Block office.
A homestead plot located in Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
During the raid, the officials are reportedly verifying several key documents, including bank passbooks and bonds.
As of now, the raids are still ongoing, and further details regarding seizure and valuation are awaited.
