Bhubaneswar, Feb 7: The State Vigilance on Friday arrested Shantanu Mohapatra, the Deputy Director & PD, of the Watershed Department in Malakangiri, on the charge of accumulating properties disproportionate to known sources of income by siphoning off government funds.
Earlier, Vigilance had recovered over Rs 2 crore in cash and 422 grams of gold ornaments from his possession, besides detecting properties worth crores of rupees in Koraput and other places of the State.

✨The Vigilance also arrested 4 others who assisted him in siphoning of government funds. They have been identified as Mohan Mandal, Assistant Engineer, Agriculture Department, Biswajit Mandal, Data Entry Operator, Amiya Kanta Sahu, Contractual Employee and Alekh Chandra Pradhan, Public Service Centre Employee.
