Odisha To Host Global Energy Leaders’ Summit In December 2025

Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: Odisha is set to host the prestigious Global Energy Leaders’ Summit on December 6–7, 2025. Organized jointly by the Tony Blair Institute and the Government of Odisha, the summit will bring together prominent energy leaders, policymakers, and strategists from across the world, officials said on Thursday.

 

In this context, a preparatory meeting, chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, was held here today. The meeting emphasized the summit’s role in attracting investment and promoting sustainable energy practices.


“This summit will provide a robust platform for energy investment and policy alignment, helping shape a prosperous and sustainable Odisha,” said Singh Deo.

The two-day event will feature multiple sessions focused on energy innovation, climate resilience, and infrastructure development. Odisha’s rich art, culture, and heritage will also be showcased to global delegates.


Among the distinguished attendees are former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, and Energy Ministers from the UAE, Singapore, and Bhutan. India’s Union Power Minister and Energy Ministers from all states will also participate, making it a landmark event for the country’s energy sector.


Key officials including Vishal Kumar Dev (Principal Secretary, Energy), Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma (CMD, OPTCL), and Satyapriya Rath (MD, GRIDCO) and representatives from the Tony Blair Institute, were present at the meeting.


The summit is expected to catalyze new partnerships, boost renewable energy investments, and reinforce Odisha’s commitment to balancing economic growth with environmental stewardship.
