The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, has issued warnings for heavy downpours across multiple districts, urging citizens to stay alert.
An Orange Alert has been issued for northern coastal and southern Odisha, with Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall within the next 24 hours. Several districts, including Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri, will also see intense showers under the Orange Alert.

✨Meanwhile, the remaining districts will experience light to moderate rainfall, prompting a Yellow Alert. The IMD also forecasts thunderstorms and lightning in northern and southern parts of Odisha.
Despite speculation, weather experts have clarified that there is no imminent cyclone threat, though a low-pressure area may form around May 27. The monsoon will take additional time to reach Odisha, following its arrival in northeastern states. Citizens are advised to stay updated with official weather notifications and take necessary precautions.
