Bhubaneswar, Apr 9: Relief from the scorching summer heat is in sight, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts Nor’westers across Odisha until April 12. A low-pressure system that formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified, evolving into a well-marked low-pressure area. The system is expected to remain strong for the next 24 hours before gradually weakening.
According to IMD officials, the low-pressure system is likely to move north-northwestward over the west-central Bay of Bengal before shifting its course north-northeastward and weakening over the central Bay of Bengal. Its impact will bring widespread rainfall to the coastal and southern Odisha over the next three days.
